Brest is a village in the Ig municipality in central Slovenia, just south of the capital Ljubljana. The entire municipality is part of the traditional region of Inner Carniola and is now included in the Central Slovenia statistical region.[2]
The local church, built on the eastern outskirts of the settlement, is dedicated to Saint Andrew and belongs to the Tomišelj parish. It was built in the early 17th cenrury and extensively rebuilt in the early 18th century.[3]
